How the vision came about:
In early September 2007 (way before S.O.U.L. Academy was born into consciousness), Shiri Joshua woke up at 4am to a bright light in the room showing a vision that was so powerful, it needed her full attention. At the time Shiri lived on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, and was surrounded by lush forest and beautiful scenery, where she offered Pet Loss Grief Counseling and teachings Animal Reiki classes as her "center;" yet Shiri knew that this vision was asking her to expand...
The vision presented an image of a sacred land, a center, spiritual congregation, sanctuary (in Canada or another location) where "people heal animals, and animals heal people."
The center would be used for facilitating healing through connections - with the land, animals, one another, and the Creator.
Honoring lessons from the animals, principles of S.O.U.L. (Service, Oneness, Unity, and Love), and metaphysical teachings, the essence of our sanctuary is to offer a place to BE, heal, shine, forgive, rest, create, and remember our True Selves as Divine Beings.
We also envision:
- Weekly inspirational teachings
- Workshops and seminars
- Music, celebrations, picnics, bon fires
- Children, youth, and conscious parenting programs - encouraging those spirited young souls to illuminate their talents and gifts (rather than focus on disadvantages or diagnosis).
- Practitioners offering private sessions
- Rescued animals for loving interactions
- Healing and blessings ceremonies for people and animals
- Grief & Bereavement Support
- Lush organic garden
- Water access for private or group meditations
- Spiritual store supporting our members' creations (art, books, jewellery, etc').
**A similar magical place such as this exists in the heart of Los Angeles! It is called: Agape International Spiritual Center.

The Global Vision: Making a difference through leading by example
By first coming together as a local spiritual community, we shall be able to act
as living examples and ambassadors of S.O.U.L: Service, Oneness, Unity, and Love
by living an authentic life within our families, communities, and the
world around us. The intention is to "spill over" in establishing a new
paradigm where all living creatures are seen as interconnected and
inter-related souls - precious children of Life itself - rather than separated unrelated bodies.
This would serve a purpose of facilitating an individual and thus global shift in consciousness from separation to unity, and from fear to love; therefore treating animals, other people, and our own selves more kindly. There are ample scientific studies and initiatives exploring and proving this very notion!
