Shiri Joshua,M.A.(Psych), is a spiritual teacher, author, poet, and healer. She applies her life-long intuitive abilities to "read" energies and connect with the consciousness of the animals; bringing forth profound inspirational messages for transformation, guidance, and soul level healing.
Growing up in Israel as a complete secular, Shiri always felt an unexplainable connection to "something bigger" when she was around animals or in nature. Her life completely transformed by a series of profound spiritual experiences in 2007, which began at the heart of a forest in Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. These events, which are the basis of her new upcoming book, marked the start of her new life and path as a "messenger" to the animals and God, and were later the catalyst for the creation of S.O.U.L. Academy.
A student of A Course in Miracles, Shiri found herself yearning for a deeper connection with its teachings on compassion, forgiveness, love, and unity with our Creator, and a link to what she believes the animals can teach us on these virtues. These days Shiri acts as a guest speaker at various "New Thought" spiritual centers and is passionate about inspiring her audience to discover and live their unique truth and purpose, and about sharing teachings for richer connection with the animals, one another, and the Divine. She feels it is her "Life's purpose, "Sacred Mission," "Ministry," and "True Calling."
The Journey
Shiri Joshua holds a B.A. in Psychology, M.A. in Counseling Psychology, and post-graduate training in infant, child, and youth development. She worked as a psychotherapist and counselor for adults and children for many years in Toronto and Vancouver, Canada until life brought her to this current path.
In 2002 following the passing of her beloved animal companion "Zoe," and wishing to offer support to other bereaved animal lovers, Shiri pioneered the Canadian Center for Pet Loss Bereavement and began offering counseling sessions for animal lovers and training seminars for animal care workers. Shiri is considered to be one of the country's leading experts in the psychology of Human-Animal Bond, and had appeared as a guest speaker in many annual veterinary medicine conferences across the nation. Her work has been featured in numerous media platforms on national and international levels.

_Creativity and passion

Radio Shalom Vancouver, 2011
__Shiri's love for animals and what they have to teach us began as a young child. Seeking to understand the sense of sacredness that she felt when in nature or around the many animals who followed her home, Shiri would naturally communicate with and practice healing on them without even knowing (she shares more on her growing up journey here).
Eventually Shiri integrated her love for psychology, teaching, spirituality, and animals, and became a Reiki Master / Teacher in 2005. Since then she taught and attuned numerous students this gentle healing method, and now offers a new training program that combines many years of practicing other aspects of healing.
Always a natural communicator with a passion for inspirational writing and speaking, Shiri also hosted and produced Vancouver's Jewish radio show in 2011. Her first book was a collection of poems published in Israel in 1994 in memory of her cousin, and she continues to write poetry both in Hebrew and English to date. Her Blog, Animal Consciousness offers articles from her work and life. Her first English book (and her biggest life mission) is "The Animals' Messenger: A Tale of Truth and Purpose," which was published in April 2011. She is currently working on her second book.
