Christ Consciousness and Lessons from the Animals:
Compassion is the Way. Everything is Holy!

"When our heart is open enough and our mind quiet enough we can begin to notice that *everything* around us contains the Spirit of the Creator showing up as sparkles of dancing light around their physical body. Christ-Consciousness really means seeing the face of God, or the Divnity, in everything and everyone(ourselves incl) beyond surface shape or form. From this place we can finally see that there is no hierarchy, no order of importance between one human and the next, between humans and animals, and between us and any other life forms - everyone is Holy in the eyes of the Universe!" ~ Shiri Joshua.
Animals have a way to teach us similar lessons by opening our heart to love, compassion, acceptance, and unity. Through their way of living in-tune with the laws of Creation and of nature, they bring us opportunities to come closer to one another, to nature, and thus to Spirit / God (or your own understanding of God). It is about time that the animals would be recognized for their sacred role as gentle teachers for humanity's awakening and healing!
To 'become enlightened' or 'Christ-like' simply means - Recognizing the Divine holy essence (purpose) in all living beings. When we begin to relate to others (reardless of the physical form or situation) as our brothers and sisters in the light of Creation, and when feeling compassion towards one living being "spills over" to the those around us - we become agents of change and transformation and help heal the world from its sense of separation and competition!
The historical Jesus (Yeshua) was trying to teach compassion to humanity through demonstration in his life of Selfless Service and deep sense of Unity with God . In fact, Jesus was the one who tried to put an end to the ritual of offering animal-sacrifices in the name of God, indicating that God is Love and that he would "offer himself as the last sacrifice for all of humanity" so that no other living thing would ever have to be.
